Special Person

Learning about one another builds community

At the beginning of the year we decided that a good way to get to know one another would be to ask questions.  We developed some questions that we would like to ask one another and developed the routine of “Special Person”.

Every week one person is chosen to be the “Special Person”.  We interview the chosen student and the teacher writes the responses down on chart paper.

After the interview, we draw a picture about the “Special Person”, and write/dictate a sentence that matches our illustration.

Our pictures and the information about the “Special Person” are displayed in the hallway for a week.  The pictures and illustrations are made into a book for the “Special Person to take home and share with their family.
